2. The Itinerary
Day 1: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Welcome to Buenos Aires! You spend one night in the hotel and can explore the city – known as the “Paris of South America”. Discover magnificent buildings, street cafes, green parks and the passionate culture with tango, asado and football. Highlights include the colorful artists’ quarter La Boca and the historic San Telmo.
Day 2: Embarkation in Ushuaia
You fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world and the gateway to Antarctica. On board your luxurious Discovery Yacht, you will be warmly welcomed by the captain and crew. With a glass of champagne, your journey through the legendary Beagle Channel begins – accompanied by views of the Andes and the untouched nature of Patagonia. Weather and ice conditions determine the course of your expedition. Your experienced captain and polar team flexibly design the program to make the most of every opportunity.
Day 3 to Day 4: At Sea
Your Discovery Yacht crosses the Drake Passage towards Antarctica. Enjoy the view of the Southern Ocean and participate in an introduction by the Discovery Team to the upcoming excursions. When crossing the Antarctic Polar Circle, you toast with a glass of champagne. In Antarctic waters, icebergs, whales and breathtaking nature await you. Put on your polar parka and enjoy the view from the deck. Check the daily program for biosecurity checks, boot fittings and an exciting lecture on marine and bird life.
Day 5 to Day 13: Antarctica
Celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve amidst the impressive nature of Antarctica. Experience the spectacular icebergs, majestic glaciers and the untouched wilderness of the white continent. Observe penguins, whales and rare seabirds during daily Zodiac excursions with the experienced Discovery Team. Enjoy festive meals, informative lectures, spa offerings# and optional helicopter^ or submarine^ experiences. Welcome to an unforgettable turn of the year in one of the last great natural landscapes on Earth.
Day 14: At Sea
On the return trip across the Drake Passage, you enjoy the luxury of the Discovery Yacht and reflect on your Antarctic experiences. Start your day with fitness, Pilates or yoga and relax in the evening in the Scenic Lounge Bar with whiskey, wine or champagne.
Day 15: Ushuaia
Wake up relaxed and enjoy your morning drink from your butler. Start the day with a massage in the Senses Spa# as well as the Vitality Pool and sauna. On the last evening, choose between Night Market or Sushi @ Koko’s with live cooking show (reservation required).
Day 16: Disembarkation and flight to Buenos Aires
Your journey ends with breakfast in Ushuaia, after which you bid farewell to the crew and fly back to Buenos Aires.
