2. The Itinerary

Your journey begins in the small port town of Ushuaia at the tip of South America. This Argentine city is the ideal gateway to Antarctica and the perfect starting point to explore the southern part of Patagonia. You enjoy the mountains, try handmade chocolate or spend time in a café or the city.
Embarkation takes place in the late afternoon, after which your ship sails down the historic Beagle Channel, which crosses Tierra del Fuego in the far south of South America. An atmosphere of anticipation awaits you on board as you depart – the next time you’ll see mainland will be in Antarctica!
Your days at sea are filled with presentations by your expedition team on topics such as photography, wildlife, glaciology, and history. Between presentations, you spend time on deck looking out for wildlife or chatting with your shipmates over a drink at the bar.
Awe is the most common reaction upon arrival on the 7th continent. The experience is indescribable. Few places are as untouched, and few places have been dreamed of for as long as Antarctica. With each visit to Antarctica, you experience something new or unexpected, which means your expedition will be different from any other before. It is your unique, personal experience. Daily Zodiac excursions from the ship await you to explore glaciated bays, channels, and landing sites. Your expedition team will take care of you during each landing, whether you’re exploring the Antarctic landscape, visiting a research station, or seeing Chinstrap, Adélie, and Gentoo penguins. Also keep an eye out for Weddell, Fur, Crabeater seals, and Leopard seals. Curious Humpback whales, Minke whales, or perhaps even Orcas may come close during a Zodiac ride. Each excursion is a new impression that will fascinate you and keep your camera busy. The experiences will become indelible memories, such as penguins squabbling over pebbles for their nests or the thunder of a calving glacier. Each day will be different, carefully crafted by your expedition team to inspire you and inform you about this wonderful part of the world.
The return journey across the Drake Passage is the last opportunity to breathe in the fresh Antarctic air. You spend time on deck, watching seabirds and looking out for whales. Inside the ship, you enjoy presentations by your expedition team and celebrate the experiences you’ve shared in Antarctica.
You will arrive in Ushuaia in the morning, giving you the opportunity to continue your adventure in Patagonia or to catch your flight home.
