2. The Itinerary
1st Day: Arrival in Ushuaia, Argentina
You will be met in Ushuaia by a representative from your ship and taken to your hotel. In the afternoon, between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, visit the reception desk at the hotel to collect your luggage tags and clarify details about the cruise and your further stay.
2nd Day: Embarkation
Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and check out. Bring your labeled cabin luggage to the reception, where it will be transported to the port. The morning is at your leisure; optionally, you can participate in a catamaran trip or meet in the hotel lobby at 3:45 PM for the transfer to embarkation.
3rd Day to 4th Day: Crossing the Drake Passage
While crossing the Drake Passage, you will get used to the movements of the sea and receive important information from the expedition team about wildlife and biosecurity. You will observe seabirds such as albatrosses and petrels and can use the onboard facilities. Shortly before the South Shetland Islands, excitement builds as the first iceberg is sighted and possibly the first landing in Antarctica takes place.
5th Day to 10th Day: Antarctic Peninsula and Southern Polar Circle
It is almost impossible to describe the feeling upon arrival in Antarctica; seeing an iceberg for the first time and breathing in the freshest, clearest air on Earth remains unforgettable. After arrival, you will explore the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands, accompanied by an experienced expedition team that selects the best routes daily based on weather, ice conditions, and wildlife observations. Twice daily, landings or Zodiac excursions take place, where you can experience spectacular ice landscapes, whales, seals, and penguin colonies.
11th Day to 12th Day: Drake Passage
Enjoy a final landing on the South Shetland Islands before the return journey through the Drake Passage to South America begins. Lectures and films complement the Antarctic experience as you continue to enjoy the magic of the Southern Ocean. Tell your family and friends about your journey and advocate for the protection of Antarctica.
13th Day: Ushuaia
In the early morning hours, you will sail up the Beagle Channel and dock in the port of Ushuaia around 8:00 AM. Say goodbye to your expedition team and fellow travelers before continuing your journey. Guests with flights before 12:30 PM will be taken directly to the airport, while others can explore Ushuaia and will be transferred to the airport in the afternoon.
