2. The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Punta Arenas
Antarctica21 staff welcome you before 2 PM in Punta Arenas, Chile. You will be taken to your hotel, visit the Explorers House and attend a briefing that informs you about your flight and explains the code of conduct for Antarctica. At the welcome dinner, you will experience local cuisine and make connections with other adventurers from around the world.
Day 2: Antarctica Flight
A short two-hour flight takes you directly from Punta Arenas to the Chilean Frei research station on King George Island in the South Shetland Islands. The Antarctic adventure begins with your first breath of the fresh, clear Antarctic air as soon as you step off the plane. Afterwards, you walk 2 km, passing the research stations of Chile and Russia, to the beach where you are taken by Zodiac to your expedition ship.
Day 3-8: Antarctica Exploration
Cruise through icy fjords and icebergs, accompanied by seabirds and marine life. Discover the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, daily by Zodiac. Hike and explore inaccessible areas with experts. Share your impressions during lectures and in a cozy setting. This expedition aims to reach the Antarctic Circle, with the route adapted according to conditions to best experience Antarctic diversity. Flexibility determines the success of your journey, which may include visits to Antarctic regions such as the Antarctic Sound and Crystal Sound. Each voyage is unique and full of discoveries.
Day 9: Return Flight to Punta Arenas
Upon your return to King George Island, you board the plane to Punta Arenas. Once there, you are taken to your hotel where you spend the night.
Day 10: End of Air Cruise
After breakfast, you are transferred to Punta Arenas airport for your return flight.
