Tristan da Cunha, one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world, is located in the South Atlantic and can only be reached by ship. Day 12 to Day 14: South Georgia
You explore the subantarctic animal paradise, where you will be greeted by massive glaciers and fjords. On the coasts and steep slopes of South Georgia, you encounter dense colonies of king penguins. After landing on the black shores of the island, you observe elephant seals and fur seals from a safe distance. On this island, you also follow in the footsteps of Sir Ernest Shackleton, who found his final resting place here in 1922.

Day 16 to Day 20: South Orkney Islands, Antarctic Peninsula, South Shetland Islands
South Orkney Islands – Remote in the Scotia Sea, characterized by ice and wind. Surprisingly rich in species: around 1,200 animal species, including penguins, seals, whales, and leopard seals. Icebergs drift off the coast. The Argentine station Orcadas offers insights into the life of polar researchers – accessible by Zodiac with prior permission. Antarctic Peninsula – Ice desert with life: Penguins, petrels, and gigantic glaciers characterize the coasts. In Paradise Bay and Neko Harbor, you set foot on Antarctic mainland. Brown Bluff impresses with 700 m high tuff cliffs. Lemaire and Neumayer Channel offer some of the most spectacular ice landscapes in the world. South Shetland Islands – Rugged beauty and great history. Deception Island: A flooded volcanic caldera with black beaches and steaming ground. On Elephant Island, Shackleton’s crew survived for months in the ice. Rocks, snow, and sunlight create unforgettable moods.
