1. Day: Arrival in Ushuaia, Argentina
You will be met in Ushuaia by a representative from your ship and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, visit the reception desk at the hotel to collect your luggage tags and clarify details about the cruise and your further stay.
2. Day: Embarkation
You have breakfast and check out, labeling your cabin luggage with your name and cabin number and leaving it at the hotel reception by 11:00 AM. In the morning, you can explore Ushuaia or join a catamaran trip, which begins at 12:15 PM in the hotel lobby. Alternatively, meet at the hotel at 3:00 PM for transfer to the pier, where you board, settle in, and meet your fellow travelers at the welcome dinner.
3. Day to 4. Day: Crossing the Drake Passage
At the beginning of the Drake Passage, you get used to the movements of the sea. The expedition team explains important wildlife guidelines and biosecurity procedures and starts the lecture program on the history, wildlife, and environment of Antarctica.
5. Day to 12. Day: Antarctic Peninsula
It’s almost impossible to describe the feeling of arriving in Antarctica. Seeing the first iceberg and breathing in the fresh air are unforgettable. Over the next eight days, you explore the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands. The expedition team plans daily activities depending on weather, ice, and wildlife. You undertake landings or Zodiac excursions to visit penguin colonies and enjoy the impressive landscape.
13. Day to 14. Day: Crossing the Drake Passage
Enjoy a final landing on the South Shetland Islands before we cross the Drake Passage for the return journey to South America. The Antarctic experience is rounded off with lectures and films. Use the time to reflect on what you’ve seen and exchange experiences. Weather permitting, the captain will sail close to Cape Horn.
15. Day: Disembarkation in Ushuaia
You reach the port of Ushuaia early in the morning and can disembark from 8:00 AM. Say goodbye to your expedition team and fellow travelers.
