Your Trip at a Glance
Your expedition journey begins in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from where you travel to Paraty, Brazil. After a stopover and a few days at sea, you reach Montevideo, Uruguay. Then your route takes you to the Falkland Islands, where you explore New Island, Steeple Jason, Carcass Island, West Point Island, Saunders Island and Stanley/Falkland Is/Islas Malvinas. After more days at sea, your Antarctic adventure begins. Your journey ends in Ushuaia, Argentina.

The Republic of Uruguay, situated between Brazil and Argentina, preserves its unique traditions and identity. Montevideo, often referred to as the ‘Switzerland of South America’, reflects Switzerland’s discreet banking system. Day 9: New Island, Falkland Islands
New Island is a remote inhabited island in the Falkland archipelago with white sandy bays and diverse wildlife, including various penguin species and albatrosses. The island has historical significance as a refuge for whaling ships since the 18th century.
Day 10: Steeple Jason, Falkland Islands
Steeple Jason Island impresses with steep peaks of 300 meters in height and rich wildlife. The island is a nature reserve, owned by the Wildlife Conservation Society and hosts the world’s largest colony of black-browed albatrosses as well as other birds such as caracaras, gulls and giant petrels, along with gentoo penguin colonies.
Day 11: West Point Island, Saunders Island, Falkland Islands
Albatrosses fascinate sailors as they conquer the oceans and feel at home in the roughest conditions. West Point Island hosts a large colony of black-browed albatrosses and rockhopper penguins in summer. Other animal species such as fur seals, sea lions and dolphins can also be found here. Saunders Island, a remote island with rich history, is a paradise for animal lovers with five penguin species, albatrosses, steamer ducks, fur seals, sea lions and dolphins, while the Napier family operates the island as a sheep farm.
Day 12: Stanley/Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas
The Falkland Islands are a remote archipelago of breathtaking natural beauty and rich wildlife. Stanley, the largest settlement, is a charming enclave with a Victorian flair.

Your days for discoveries and adventures in Antarctica will be planned by the expedition team depending on weather and ice conditions.
